Jason and Kagan put the final touches on the team’s third 3D printer. It is the second printer we’ve built this year as part of our class. Having a “print farm” available during the upcoming build season will allow us to iterate designs more quickly. In addition to adding to our build capabilities, putting the machine together (it was a kit with thousands of parts) was valuable experience in itself. Many of the parts and assembly techniques used in the printers are also used in building robots.
We purchased the machine with donations made to the team. We thank our supporters for making these great resources available to bIrobot!
