The First Robotics competition is about teams each from schools in countries all around the world coming to compete and put their robots to the test. Robots that arrive at this competition are unique, imaginative, and extrodinary. And the effort and work that was put into these robots is phenominal. But, if somebody does the slightest error in the code or in the wiring, everything could go wrong. For example making the robot go way to fast during testing. Every year the competition is completely different. We have to design the robot to do completely different tasks each year. Because of this you cannot simply take your design from last year.
From all this work and effort our team learns valuable skills. For example, we learn how to code in Python which is a great coding language for robots/machines. We also learn how to design objects in Fusion 360. Fusion 360 is a CAD Modeling software, CAD stands for Computer Aided Design. We even use a CNC machine to make parts for the robot. For those who don’t know what a CNC stands for it means computer numerical control.
We are all looking forward to this years competition and challenges that come along the way.
