Join team bIrobot at the Beaver Island District Library to learn about robots, programming and the many components of the FIRST family of robot leagues (FRC, FTC, FLL and Jr. FLL). If you are interested in participating next year (and as we get ready for next year over the summer), this is a great opportunity to learn more about the program. We’ll have a selection of books you can check out — including how to build your own robot and Isaac Asimov’s short story collection I Robot (our teams namesake). This is part of a stae-wide effort to display robots in libraries on this date.
Oh, and there is a rumor that our WORLD Championship attending robot will be present and signing autographs. Don’t miss it.

This year the FIRST world championship events are split between two locations–Houston and Detroit. We didn’t make it this year (there is always next season), but we are looking into a trip to the event so we can attend some of the many conference sessions that are a part of Worlds (and catch a few matches). We’ll also toss in a college visit or two if we can.
